Accomplishment: Sabrina Depas loves music. In fact, she loves it so much that when NBC Philadelphia offered $5,000 for a classroom makeover earlier this year, she wrote an essay on why she thought the music classroom at C.W. Henry deserved that makeover. Sabrina’s submission about her school's creative use of music in math test preparation won.

Key to Awesomeness: Henry music teacher Nikki Paulino believes that Sabrina is the sort of young person who will succeed no matter what she chooses to do.  “She's very passionate and mature for her age,” said Paulino.  “She puts heart into everything she does and stands up for what she believes is right.”

The NBC Universal Homeroom Reformers Challenge money will be put to good use. Future projects include a new floor and mirrors for dance rehearsals, instruments, recording equipment, a projector and a video camera to film the school’s many shows.
