Be Sure Girl Unique Boutique Closes

The boutique had been open since June 2010.

Be Sure Girl Unique Boutique has closed after being open on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue for more than a year.

The boutique, which was previously housed at 7150 Germantown Ave., has vacated the premises after opening in June 2010. A sign on the door of the building there indicates it's now for rent.

Stacy Ingram, who owned the boutique, said in November 2010 that she hoped the plus-size store would cater to all women in an unusual way. It carried clothing that ranged from size 0 to size 30.

The store, she said, was just the first step in Ingram's plan to supply women with clothing. She talked about starting a non-profit organization that would supply women with cancer with hats that have hair attached.

Ingram made those by hand at Wisk Hair Salon in East Mt. Airy, which she has owned and operated since 2000.

Another plus-size boutique has moved on to Germantown Avenue in the past few months. BellaNOR Boutique opened in September at 7117 Germantown Ave.
