A Look at What's Closed on Martin Luther King Day

Government offices won't be open.

A variety of different things will be closed today because of Martin Luther King Day.

City offices will be closed. Because of that, trash and recycling pickup will be pushed back one day throughout the week.

Libraries throughout Philadelphia—including the Lovett library branch—won't be open.

Post offices across the country will be closed. That includes the Mt. Airy post office on Germantown Avenue.

There also won't be as much child traffic as normal—schools won't be open either.

Banks throughout the area—and across the country—will mostly be closed.

Correction: A previous version of this article said SEPTA would run on a weekend/Sunday schedule on Monday. That is incorrect—it's running on a regular schedule.

Are you sure about the Septa schedule change? There's nothing on SEPTA's website re: a weekend schedule, and Philly.com say it's a regular weekday schedule tomorrow.

On the train schedule it doesn't list MLK day as a holiday. http://www.septa.org/schedules/rail/pdf/che.pdf

I clearly messed up on the holiday schedule. Sorry about that. It's a regular day on SEPTA. Thanks everyone for letting me know - it's always helpful to have you looking out for me.
